Siop Cynfelyn - a Message from the Manager
More than just a shop!
Annwyl bawb/Dear all
Recently I went to an auction in Trefeglys of all the contents of the Cwm Trannon community shop and café. It was a very, very sad day for them. They had a building we currently only see as a dream, with everything we would wish for in our own community shop/cafe - a shop, cafe, 3 public pcs, a function room with large TV, DVD player, surround sound, projector screen, pool table, everything really, but unfortunately they didn't make it.
We WILL make it, but we need your help. October and November were our worst sales months last year and so far this October is proving the same. Of course this is the case in most of retail at this time of year, as people are saving for Christmas. But as you all know, my motto is "If you want it and are going to buy it, we will stock it!" I need everyone to spend just a pound or so extra each week to ensure we can survive through the harder months.
Please see the graph and notes attached HERE.
Many people have asked for a larger cafe menu and over time we have progressed and added more and more. 5 weeks ago we employed Jane our new chef. Jane is as passionate and enthusiastic about bringing YOU, our customers, what you want, so as from Saturday 25th October she will be offering you a new weekend-only breakfast menu with an exciting large range of delicious dishes, made using the finest local and organic ingredients.
We will only be offering this on a Saturday and Sunday to start with, as we need to keep the current level of paid staff to sustain the offer we currently give but we do need more volunteers to help out: more meals means more dishes to wash! So please do try and support us, if not by volunteering then by simply buying and spreading the word.
If you are unable to volunteer do still come and shop with us, without both our customers and volunteers we wouldn't be here.
We have more exciting events being organised and new products available up to the festive season this year so please do follow us on Facebook or Twitter, check our web page or our shop notice board when you visit.
Diolch i bawb/Thanks to all
A chance to practice your Welsh at Siop Cynfelyn.
Every 3rd Saturday in the month, there is an informal gathering in the Cwtch, 11am onwards, where you can have an opportunity to practise your Welsh and talk to people who are learning it.
These friendly and enjoyable sessions have been very successful thus far, so come along next time and get a taste of Welsh over a delicious cup of coffee.
